Dunadd SSEN Micro Grant Application

Dunadd Community Enterprise has been selected as one of 8 community organisations to operate the Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Micro-grant Scheme on behalf of SSEN Transmission of a total of £6,000 per annum per community council area over the next 5 years.

Applications to DCE are welcome from groups or individuals for any project, idea or resource that will benefit the community within the Dunadd Community Council Area.

We particularly welcome applications that support our own areas of focus for the Dunadd area. These are; strengthening our community resilience to climate change, reducing community isolation for all ages, and celebrating the beauty and cultural significance of Dunadd and its people.

Small grants of up to £500, or £1,000 in exceptional cases, will be available. If you are seeking a grant of less than £250 we would urge you to apply to the A’Cruach Community Fund micro grant scheme administered by Dunadd Community Council in the first instance.

Micro-grants can be awarded to:

  • Non-constituted groups
  •  Constituted groups
  •  Individuals who are helping others or representing their community.

From 3rd November 2026 our short online application process will open on our website with our first decision panel taking place on 13th January 2027. We anticipate operating another 2 rounds in 2027 but this will depend upon applications in our initial round of funding. The remaining available funds will be included on this page.

Digital and/or printed versions of our application form can be requested by emailing development@dunadd.scot. Support for completing your application is available from our development officer via development@dunadd.scot.

Please see bottom of page for further relevant information about this micro grant.

  • Activities that are the statutory responsibility of statutory authorities
  • Projects benefiting primarily residents outside of the Area of Benefit
  • Anti-electrical infrastructure / renewable energy activities

  • The costs of energy consumption
  • The repayment of loans or payment of debts
  • Recoverable costs (i.e. VAT costs that can be recovered)
  • Individuals for their direct personal gain (should be for actions or achievements that bring benefit to their area)

Minutes from all award panel meetings will be made available on request. The conditions from SSEN Transmission mean that Community Councillors and local authority employees can’t be involved in decision making. Any individual who is included in this criteria will not participate in decisions over these micro grants. DCE directors reserve the right to invite additional panel members to support in our decision making and to prioritise the awarding of grants that align best with our priority areas during that funding round.

Whilst DCE is entitled to use 10% of the value of the total annual grant for the purposes of administering and promoting the grant, we are committed to provide as much of the grant fund to applicants over the 5 years as possible. Further information will be available in our end of year accounts.
